Firefox 3 UK release time
written by Craig, 17 June 2008
Unless you have not heard, Firefox 3.0 is out today. The local UK release time is 6pm and it should be available from http://getfirefox.com/.
Why Firefox?
If you have never tried Firefox, then I recommend you do. All round, it’s a better browser than any of the others.
If you’re a web developer, then Firefox is absolutely essential. It has built-in tools and extensions that make web development far easier than ever before. I have to say, that if it weren’t for Firefox, Web 2.0 and large Ajax-based applications probably wouldn’t exist.
I’ve been using Firefox 3.0 for a little while and it’s a slicker, faster browser than ever before.
Download world record
Mozilla is attempting to set the world record for downloads in one day, and you can pledge your support. OK, so it’s a bit of a gimmick, but it’s one of the reasons Firefox has gained the market share it has within a relatively short period of time.
Incidentally, UK pledges are languishing way behind France, Germany, Italy and Poland…
